"The simultaneous global release is a brand new challenge for us"—Wuthering Waves devs talk about the efforts made to improve in-game localization

Wuthering Waves is currently one of the biggest and most popular gacha games. Unfortunately, it didn't have the best start as the action RPG by Kuro Games faced quite a few in-game issues during launch, including bugs, graphics, and, more importantly, localization. However, the developers have been working continuously to fix all the issues and provide players with the best experience, which has also impressed the community.

Sportskeeda Esports also recently interviewed Dong, Senior Producer of Wuthering Waves, in which he talks about the initial struggles with the simultaneous global release and the efforts made to improve localization for the global audience.

Wuthering Waves dev talks about in-game localization issues and efforts to fix it

In a recent exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Esports, Dong opened up about the major in-game localization issues during the game's release. When asked about their plans to fix this issue, he replied:

"The simultaneous global release is a brand new challenge for us. We didn’t have much experience in global releases, and one manifestation of this is the insufficient quality of the localization at launch. However, our localization quality has already improved compared to the initial launch period and are gradually enhancing it mainly through two approaches."

Dong stated that the simultaneous global release of a game was a new challenge for them as they didn't have any prior experience, which was evident in the in-game localization quality during the initial launch. However, the quality has since then improved a lot, and the developers are still working on enhancing it even more. He further speaks on the steps taken toward improving localization:

"Firstly, we have expanded the size of our localization team; secondly, we have optimized the localization workflow, focusing more on in-game localization. There's one thing for sure: we will continue to invest in localization, leveraging internal potential while collaborating with industry experts who have extensive expertise to bring a better localized gaming experience to players worldwide."

Kuro Games has also taken the necessary steps to improve the localization quality. Firstly, they have expanded the size of the localization team. Additionally, the developers have optimized the workflow to focus more on in-game localization.

Dong has also stated that Kuro Games will continue to invest in improving localization quality and collaborate with other experts in the industry to bring the best gameplay experience to all the players.
