Wuthering Waves is an upcoming action role-playing game set in a futuristic post-apocalyptic world. The game was developed by the Chinese game developer Kuro Games, who will publish it worldwide on May 22, 2024.

Wuthering Waves Plot

A mysterious catastrophe called the Lament has driven humanity near extinction and left unknown creatures and monsters exploring the world. However, the remaining humanity has adapted to these changes and is rebuilding civilizations. The players take on the role of a character called Rover, who wakes up from a deep slumber. The protagonist now would be exploring this futuristic post-apocalyptic world.

Although Kuro Games has revealed Wuthering Waves would be resolving around Rover, there might be more characters to play as. This upcoming action role-playing game would have a gacha system to unlock other playable characters, who would be known as Resonators.

Wuthering Waves Gameplay

Wuthering Waves would have an open-world setting, which players would be exploring as Rover along with recruited Resonators. This upcoming game would have a roguelike gameplay, using the playable characters to complete a series of challenges.

The game’s gacha system called Convenese would help to unlock new characters and weapons that would have 4-star and 5-star ratings. There would be three kinds of Convenese: novice, event, and standard. Moreover, there would be a pity system for fans to unlock 5-star content from the gacha system for a limited time.
