Tides of Tomorrow, one of the World Premieres at Day of the Devs 2024, offers something interesting when it comes to multiplayer, asynchronous adventure titles. Developed by DigixArt and published by Deep Silver, this stylish game takes place on a fictional planet of Elynd, which is trying to overcome the effects of the Great Flood. Living people are being slowly killed by what is known as a plastification, and the need for a cure is great.

In Tides of Tomorrow, revealed during Day of the Devs 2024, the human race on the planet of Elynd is facing total extinction, unless a cure is found for the disease that is slowly wiping them out. It’s going to be up to the players to work towards that, but it won’t be easy - nothing worthwhile ever is.

Players will explore this rich, oceanic planet, going to various cities and towns, as they search for a cure. The choices they make are going to matter for several reasons.

There are three factions that players will likely be aligned with, and each has their own goals and pros/cons. Who you work with matters because it could easily upset others and create rivals or enemies in the world of Tides of Tomorrow.

It gets deeper still, though, because this is a multiplayer asynchronous game, so players likely will not have to be active at the same time. The decisions you or your friends make will affect other players, and you’ll have to choose whether you agree or disagree with the moves that were made before you.

The actions of your friends - or perhaps even streamers, according to the developers - will shape how you approach the game. This promises to make it a unique multiplayer experience, where you have to react to what others before you have done to make your way through and survive.

Tides of Tomorrow genuinely has a unique premise to it. Instead of working together with someone, you follow your friend or favorite streamer through the game and essentially react to what they do and make the best of each situation.

While it has no release date, the game is “coming soon,” according to the developers. Make sure to stay tuned to Sportskeeda for other Summer Game Fest announcements, such as the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase.
