AUSTIN, TX – NOVEMBER 16: Cars exit the pitlane to take part in the first practice session for the United States Formula One Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas on November 16, 2012 in Austin, Texas.

The Circuit of Americas officials have contacted the FIA authorities regarding a change in race schedule for the 2013 edition of the race here in Texas, USA. The race, which is expected to be held on the 17th of November, is set to clash with the University of Texas home football game the same weekend.

Track chairman Bobby Epstein confirmed this report, adding that he knows that the FIA authorities are doing their level best to reschedule the race to a different date, but does not expect a positive outcome.

The race attracted around 260,000 viewers in its inaugural year and Mclaren’s Lewis Hamilton was the winner ahead of Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso.
