Carlos Sainz Jr. set the second fastest lap on the second day of the Young Driver Test at Silverstone. Testing for Toro Rosso, Carlos was just 0.044 seconds behind Toro Rosso’s race driver Daniel Ricciardo.
“The feeling was completely unbelievable. So for me this day has been the best day of my life and a dream has come true. After jumping out of the car I went and thanked every mechanic and every engineer at Toro Rosso as they have been part of the most important and happiest day of my life,” said Carlos Sainz Jr.
Sainz Jr., son of double World Rally Champion Carlos Sainz, impressed everyone with his pace. He will test the Red Bull RB9 on Friday before handing over to Sebastian Vettel.
