With the Austrian Grand Prix set to return to the Formula One calendar in 2014, the organisers have kicked off their construction works on the circuit in Styria.

The former A1-ring, which is now owned and rebuilt by the energy drink company Red bull, has been renamed as the Red Bull-ring.

Bernie Ecclestone announced in July that a deal was agreed with Dietrich Mateschitz, the owner of Red Bull to return F1 to Austria on July 6 next year. However, later it was announced that the event will take place a week earlier than that.

The circuit will be making its return to the calendar after a 11-year absence. The last time the engines roared in Austria, Michael Schumacher was the eventual winner.
