Parthiva Sureshwaren: Moving on the Right Track
Indian Formula Two driver Parthiva Sureshwaren put on an improved performance to get his highest points finish of the season in the Formula Two championship at the legendary Brands Hatch circuit in the UK. Sureshwaren, driving the Lyca Mobile car finished in 11th and 14th positions in both races after tough qualifying sessions.
After qualifying in 18th position for Race 1, Parthiva had a bad start and went last into the first corner but drove really well and moved past many cars to finish in a creditable 11th place, just one place out of the points. Race 2 saw Parthiva qualifying last on the grid due to changing his setup overnight and having to revert to the old one late in qualifying. However he once again managed to move up the grid and finish in 14th position.
“I’m really happy with the result in race one as the qualifying session had been really close but not good enough for us. My race pace was a lot better and I had managed to get past some cars and finally finish in 11th place. I do believe I could have gotten 10th place and points if I had one lap more. My qualifying lap for Race 2 was very disappointing as I was not comfortable with the brakes on my fast lap. However in the race the car felt really quick and once again I managed to overtake some cars to finish in 14th place. I am satisfied with my race pace over the weekend especially since Brands Hatch is a circuit where overtaking is really hard. It was good to have my partners Lyca Mobile present over the weekend and once I again I would like to thank them for all the support.” commented Parthiva.
Parthiva now has a one month break before heading to the Red Bull Ring in Austria. With three races left on the 2011 calendar Parthiva is confident of improving even more.
