Michael Schumacher is slowly being brought out of an induced coma, his manager has confirmed.

There were reports last night, about the 7-time world champion being woken up from an induced coma more than 4 weeks after he suffered a serious head injury in a skiing accident.

Schumacher’s manager has now confirmed that the seadation is indeed being reduced to allow the waking-up process.

“Michael’s sedation is being reduced in order to allow the start of the waking-up process, which may take a long time,” said his manager Sabine Kehm.

The move comes as the latest development in a saga that started on a fateful December 29 day. Schumacher was on a routine skiing trip at the Medibel resort in the French Alps when he crashed head first into a rock after losing control. Schumacher, has since been gravely ill at the CHU hospital in the south west city of Grenoble.

The German legend has been in a medically induced coma for more than four weeks and the longer he remains in that state the more concern there is over whether he will be able to make a full recovery.
