The former IndyCar star, who is also known for her bold fashion sense, took to her Instagram story to share her smart outfit for her participation in the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve event. Patrick sported a sleek black suit-style gown, paired with a crisp white inner shirt and a matching black jacket.

Patrick, who has since transitioned into media activities amid other ventures following her retirement from active racing in 2018, was at the Montreal event on punditry duty for Sky Sports. The Wisconsin native, aside from covering Formula 1 events, has also featured on punditry duties for both IndyCar and NASCAR—two series in which she actively participated during her racing career.

Turning attention to the on-track action of the Canadian Grand Prix, much of the lead-up conversation dominating the headlines was focused on the front-row start featuring both George Russell, who qualified in pole position and Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen. How the race start between the pair would unfold remains a major talking point—one that Danica Patrick also echoed on her social media as lights out awaits.

Danica Patrick also took to her social media to pose the question that continues to dominate discussions ahead of the start of the Canadian Grand Prix. The former NASCAR driver asked which of George Russell or Max Verstappen will come out on top at the end of the first turn of the track.

Both drivers appear to share a subtle hostility that has continued to brew, particularly in recent race weekends. Most recently, Verstappen appeared to clatter into Russell, an incident that earned him a 10-second penalty in the final round of the Spanish Grand Prix. Patrick, clearly intrigued by the fiery battle the two could deliver on the F1 grid, took to her Instagram story to ask the question of who will come out on top at the end of the first corner.

“Who will win lap 1?! Max or George?” the former Indy 500 rookie wrote.

It should be noted, however, that in the six races the duo have started on the front row together, Max Verstappen has gotten the better of the Mercedes driver—most notably at the 2024 Qatar Grand Prix. However, the race start turned out to be far more subdued than many would have anticipated. The pair kicked off the race in the same order in which they started. Russell led the race from lights out, and although Verstappen tried to perform an overtake, the Mercedes driver ensured he kept the lead through the opening stages of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve event.
