Haas F1 driver Esteban Ocon was left raving about the mindblowing quality on display at the recently concluded 2025 French Open final between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. The duo is ranked No. 1 and No. 2 in the ATP Rankings and has played the longest final in Roland Garros history, with the Spaniard coming out triumphant.
Sinner made a blistering start to the contest and raced to a two-set lead, and even had a break up in the final set, but Alcaraz upped his level and won the third set. In the fourth, the Italian had three championship points at 5-3 but was unable to convert any of them and eventually lost the set in the tiebreaker.
The final set was going in the favor of Carlos Alcaraz, who had a match point as well, but the World No. 1 roared back to take the final to a final-set tiebreak. However, the man from Murcia was able to raise his level once again to complete an incredible comeback and win his fifth Grand Slam, as well as his second French Open in successive years.
In his social media platform, Threads, Esteban Ocon was spellbound by the match and complimented both tennis players, saying:
"Wow!! We just witnessed something extremely special 🤯 🎾 Congratulations to both Carlos and Jannik on an unbelievable performance! What a match!!!"

Esteban Ocon drives for the Haas F1 Team in the 2025 season and has scored 20 points thus far from nine races and two Sprints.
Esteban Ocon chimes in on being eluded from driving a race-winning car
Haas F1 driver Esteban Ocon stated that he has not been given the opportunity to drive a race-winning car in F1 despite being in the sport for close to a decade.
Speaking with RacingNews365, the French driver said on the subject:
"It is frustrating, yes, when I look back on all the other drivers of my generation, they've all had a shot at a race-winning car at one point. I'm not going to say it was the whole year a race-winning car, but at one point, a race-winning car, constantly in Q3, constantly in the top five.
"I'm probably the only one who's never really had the chance to drive one of these cars, but I believe with the right work ethic, how much I put into questioning myself, and what I can do better. The amount of work I put in, between the factory, the simulator, with the engineers, and doing a good job on track, it will eventually come at one point.”
The 28-year-old has won a single race in F1, which happened in the chaotic 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix when the former was able to successfully stay on the track after an opening lap melee of cars crashing out.
