Max Verstappen’s partner, Kelly Piquet, sparked a subtle wave of curiosity among Formula 1 fans after an unexpected slip of the tongue during a recent media appearance. The 36-year-old, who was in attendance at the ICON Conference, accidentally referred to her relationship with the Dutch racer as "married" while speaking to the media.
The Brazilian model and content creator, speaking with the media following the conclusion of her session, touched on her life, relationship, and her newborn child. While addressing Portuguese outlet TVI, she accidentally implied that she was married to the Red Bull Racing driver. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by user Kelly Piquet fan, Piquet can be seen correcting her slip of the tongue.
“I breathe motorsport. It was something so natural and I ended up marrying an F1 pilot. I mean, I am not married yet... starting a family, yes. It wasn’t something intentional, it wasn’t something planned. I have had boyfriends who weren’t—it was fate,” Piquet said [translated from Portuguese]
Kelly Piquet has been in a relationship with Max Verstappen since late 2020, and the couple recently welcomed a daughter, Lily, earlier in May, before the Miami Grand Prix. While their relationship is not hidden, the couple often tends to keep details of their private life away from the public eye.
