F1 fans were left reeling after Red Bull driver Max Verstappen called out Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz in their tense exchange ahead of the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix. The Dutch driver faced the media in Montreal for the first time since doing the post-race analysis of his antics during the Spanish GP earlier in the month.

The four-time F1 world champion admitted that his controversial incident with Mercedes driver George Russell should not have happened as it was born out of built-up frustration after a late safety car created chaos.

During his interaction with the media in Montreal, Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz asked Max Verstappen about the communication between Stephen Knowles, Red Bull's Senior Race Strategy Engineer, and his race engineer, GP Lambiase, which led to the chaos with Russell. The Dutchman was irked by the question and pulled up Kravitz and said:

"I think it's not really nice to try and single out a person, to be honest, because that's never the case. I think we just look at it as a team, what we always can do better, and that's also how we look at it in Barcelona. But it's not fair to now single out one single person."

Although the F1 reporter corrected and claimed that he was not "singling out" Knowles, Verstappen remained adamant in his response.

"@tedkravitz is a hack. I hate Apple, but hope they get the global rights to F1 just to fire him and @CroftyF1."

"Love him or hate him, he is the spitting image of Schumacher. He is ruthless on track, however, when mistakes are made by the team, he doesn't put them under the bus," said a fan.

Here are some more reactions:

"Ted just talking in circles when he rightfully gets called out," wrote a fan.
"Well answered Max....," claimed another.

"Ted is a biased clown," mentioned another.

Max Verstappen was given a 10-second penalty for his incident with George Russell, which demoted the former to P10 in Barcelona.

Max Verstappen reveals the reason behind his statement after Barcelona

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen stated that he was just "sharing his views" on the race when he put the statement admitting that his actions in Spain were not right.

Speaking with RacingNews365, the 27-year-old reflected on his post and said:

"Sharing my view of things, how I thought that race panned out not ideal for me. But then that was my statement, and then I went back to enjoy my day. I mean, you always reflect every race, even the good ones. So it isn't hard at all."

Max Verstappen was also given three penalty points on his FIA Superlicense, which takes his tally to 11 points, one away from a race ban.
