Back in 2022, Lewis Hamilton responded hilariously to a question by Daniel MacDonald, aka Daniel Mac, widely known for his online content. He asked Hamilton about his job, to which he replied he was a professional dancer who races part-time.
Mac is a popular American social media personality. He is famous for asking wealthy and successful individuals what they do for a living. His videos reach a vast audience and have billions of views.
Mac has over 14.3 million followers on TikTok and over 3.11 million subscribers on YouTube. Thanks to his popularity, he often gets access to renowned events, such as the 2022 Las Vegas Launch Party at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit. When he noticed Hamilton, he asked him his staple question — what he did for a living. The seven-time world champion had a sarcastic response.
"I'm actually a professional dancer, but I'm a part-time racer," Lewis Hamilton said.
Mac also showcased other F1 drivers in the video being asked the same question. Some resorted to humor, while others were straight to the point. He asked Sergio Perez about his job, to which the Red Bull driver said he was the Mexican minister of defense. When Lando Norris was asked the same question, he said he was an amateur golfer and races in an F1 car on the weekends.
Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso, Yuki Tsunoda, Alex Albon, Logan Sargeant, Nico Hulkenberg, and Guenther Steiner also appeared in the video.
Valtteri Bottas jokingly suggested an alternate job for Lewis Hamilton earlier this year
Lewis Hamilton's former teammate, Valtteri Bottas suggested an alternate job for the seven-time world champion. In one of Kick Sauber's X videos from July this year, the Sauber driver said Hamilton could have been a surfer:
"Lewis: definitely surfing, he's a good surfer."
Hamilton is a surfing fanatic. He is also a good friend of world champion surfer Kelly Slater.
Hamilton and Bottas raced together in Mercedes for five years. The Finnish driver arrived at Brackley in 2017 after Nico Rosberg retired at the end of the 2016 season. Together they helped Mercedes claim five F1 Constructors' Championships. Bottas moved out of Mercedes at the end of 2021 for Sauber and was replaced by George Russell.
