Max Verstappen's mother reacts to Kelly Piquet's post with her daughter Lily

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen's mother, Sophie Kumpen, gave an adorable reaction to her son's girlfriend, Kelly Piquet, posting the first pictures with their newborn baby, Lily, on social media. The Dutch driver and his partner of four years became parents for the first time together after Piquet welcomed their daughter, Lily, in early May.

The pair announced the pregnancy during the 2024 season and gave regular updates during the following months, although they kept the birth date under wraps. The duo earlier shared a picture of their daughter announcing her birth before the race in Miami.

Kelly Piquet posted a series of pictures featuring herself and her newborn from a photoshoot on the social media platform Instagram. The Brazilian model even penned a note to her daughter and said:

"Just a little over a month since my heart experienced for the second time the most amazing love in the world 💕 Words can’t describe what it is to feel a love so profound. Becoming a mother again has reminded me of the beauty, strength and softness that live within us. Thank you my little one for choosing me."

In the comments section of the post, Max Verstappen's mother, Sophie Kumpen, gave an adorable reaction to her granddaughter and said:

"Sweet Lily, we love you so much,"

Kelly Piquet was already a mother to her five-year-old daughter named Penelope, who shares with former F1 driver Daniil Kvyat, before giving birth last month.

Kelly Piquet opens up about her relationship with Max Verstappen and their future plans

In an interview with the Portuguese broadcaster TVI, the 36-year-old model spoke about being in a relationship with F1 drivers:

"I breathe motorsport. It's something that comes naturally to me. And in the end, I've started a family with an F1 driver. Well, not married yet, but we've started a family. It wasn't planned on purpose. I've had several relationships with men who weren't in that field, but it was just meant to be." said Kelly Piquet

In the same interview, Piquet also reflects that she would focus on Lily for the next couple of months, adding:

"It's been six weeks. So it was also hard to come here today because my daughter is the only thing I'll be focused on this summer. I'm taking the time before I resume my professional activities," she added.

Before the birth of her second child, Piquet was a regular in the F1 paddock and would extend her support to Max Verstappen by travelling across the globe with him. However, since the announcement of her pregnancy last year, she has stayed away from the paddock.
