F1 fans recently reacted to Max Verstappen being penalized by the FIA for using a swear word during the Singapore GP press conference on Thursday. Verstappen attended the press conference where he discussed his qualifying performance at the Azerbaijan GP and compared it to Sergio Perez. Verstappen claimed that due to different setups, he was unable to secure a place ahead of the Mexican. However, during this explanation, the Dutch driver used a swear word to describe his car's condition, saying:"I don't know, man. Different set-up. So as soon as I went into qualifying, I knew the car was f**ked," Verstappen said.Following this, the FIA stepped in and reviewed the press conference where Max Verstappen blurted out the swear word. They then decided to ask the three-time world champion to do some work towards public interest."As this topic has been raised before and is well known by the competitors, the Stewards determined to order a greater penalty than previously and that Verstappen be “obliged to accomplish some work of public interest” (Art. 12.4.1.d of the International Sporting Code), in coordination with the Secretary General for Sport of the FIA," it concluded.Many fans were confused and startled to see the nature of the penalty received by Max Verstappen after he swore in the press conference.
