The 2024 F1 Hungarian Grand Prix could witness a huge setback as visuals of the Hungaroring reveal flooding over the track. Despite the expected hot weather, the current conditions are seemingly impossible to race in.
The weather forecast over the Hungaroring for the upcoming weekend predicts 30°C as an average. However, recent visuals from the track speak a completely different story.
One of the videos circulating online shows the highest point of the track getting flooded with water, while another post shows a hailstorm. These clips raise some doubt over the F1 Grand Prix scheduled for this weekend.
In the current conditions, it is tough to say if the F1 race weekend will be able to proceed. Last year, the race at Imola was called off because of extreme flooding in the area. Similarly, the 2021 Belgian GP was called off after running one lap under the safety car because of similar conditions.
While the Hungarian Grand Prix has regularly seen tricky weather impacting the race, these conditions are even tougher. There is a chance that the weekend's action might continue as planned if the rain stops, and that is what the hope will be among the supporters.

The Hungarian GP weekend will be followed by the Belgian GP, which would be another packed F1 weekend before the start of the summer break. These two races will help provide a clearer picture about the performances of the top teams. Currently, McLaren and Red Bull seem to have control at the top, with Mercedes and Ferrari on the chase.
