Red Bull boss Christian Horner has confirmed that the F1 champions are not considering Jean-Eric Vergne for next season.

Red Bull need to find a replacement for Mark Webber since the Australian has decided to leave F1 at the end of the season. Red Bull are reportedly looking to sign either Daniel Ricciardo or former world champion Kimi Raikkonen.

The team had earlier announced that Ricciardo will be testing for them at the Young Driver Test in Silverstone.

“We’re very keen to have a look at Daniel as a prospect for next year. Obviously there is a great deal of interest in the seat, but it’s an opportunity to have a look at Daniel and for him to do some of our tyre testing work in our RBR car. It’s a great opportunity for him,” said Horner.

Ricciardo, many consider, would be the safer option for Horner’s team as he is less likely to create any problem with Red Bull’s world champion Sebastian Vettel. However, considering Raikkonen’s experience and the form he is in, it won’t be easy to turn him down.
