Sebastian Vettel wins Singapore GP, inches closer to world title

Sebastian Vettel won the 2011 Singapore Grand Prix and thusmoved closer to the F1 world driver’s title. Jenson Button of McLaren, who was inching closer to the win in final stages of the race, finished second. Mark Webber claimed the last possible podium. The Singapore win was the 9th of the season and 19th of the career for Vettel.

Fernando Alonso finished in fourth place followed by Lewis Hamilton in fifth place, who recovered well after serving a drive-through penalty for causing a collision with Massa.

Force India claimed their best Formula One results with ‘double points’ finish. Paul di Resta finished in 6th place out-qualifying team-mate Adrian Sutil in 8th place. Now, the team is placed 6th in constructors title. Both Force India cars were separated by Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes in 7th place.

Felipe Massa finished in 9th place and Sergio Perez claiming the last possible point.
