Nico Rosberg took his eighth pole of the season at Suzuka, beating Lewis Hamilton by two tenths of a second to whom he lost the championship lead following his retirement in Italy. However, everyone was occupied by the bombshell dropped by Sebastian Vettel and Red Bull Racing. The two parties will split at the end of the season after seven successful year which yielded four straight title doubles. Vettel remained quiet as to where he'll be racing next season, but it's likely that he'll join Scuderia with Alonso being McLaren bound.
