Vettel defends Schumacher after his clash with Bruno Senna

Sebastian Vettel has come out in support of his former mentor, and seven times world champion Michael Schumacher who has been handed a five place grid penalty for slamming into back of Senna in Spain.

Michael had branded Senna as an idiot over the team radio, and blamed him for their clash. The stewards thought otherwise, and slapped the German with a five place grid penalty for Monaco Grand Prix.

The incident in itself didn’t go down well with the red bull team, as the debris from the accident damaged Sebastian Vettel’s front wing, and to Red Bull’s dismay he failed to slow down despite the yellow flag.

Speaking after the grand prix Christian Horner, Red Bull team principal said that Michael’s manoeuvre on Senna affected Sebastian indirectly in a negative way.

Sebastian Vettel however, has defended Schumacher. Speaking of the incident after the race, Sebastian feels that the incident should have been classified as a racing accident which unfortunately happens time and again. He feels that during such intense races, the drivers have very less time to react and such sort of accidents are a part of formula racing.

Mercedes team’s, Nobert Haug didn’t want to comment on the incident, but told the media that the team accepts the steward’s decision.
