The former Liverpool and Chelsea man has been a free agent since he was released by Turkish club, Fenerbahce.

At 33, he is reaching the end of his footballing career but looks in shape for a season or two more. He has a lot of experience under his belt, both at the club and national level, and can prove to be a valuable signing.

The Portuguese spent the last 4 seasons at Fenerbahce and was a vital part of the team which was triumphant in 2014 Turkish league. He made 105 appearances for the club, scoring 8 goals in the process.

Meireles provides a solid presence in midfield, and will be a good signing, especially for the English clubs. He spent 3 seasons in the EPL, winning 2011 PFA Fans’ Players of the year, and won Champions League with Chelsea in 2011-12.
