trailing by 5-1 at halftime.

Even after almost two decades of this match, it is talked about. Less than five months before this game Arsenal put United to the sword at Highbury courtesy a terrific goal from Thiery Herny.

To make the matters worse for the Red Devils they were not really in a very good goalscoring form before the game and on top of it Arsene Wenger famously claimed that "United haven’t done anything special this season”.

At halftime at Old Trafford Arsenal went into the halftime break 5-1 down. A Dwight Yorke hat-trick within 25 minutes helped Machester United to tear apart the Gunners and they went on to win the match by a scoreline of 6-1.

The victory of Gunners took Manchester United 16 points clear of the top of the table as Gunners finished runners-up in that Premier League campaign and 18 points behind Manchester United.
