5 players that can be up for big money moves in the summer of 2018

Real Madrid v Leganes - Copa del Rey, Quarter Final Second Leg
Real Madrid are expected to be on a spending spree in the summer

With the January transfer business done, the teams turn their focus back to the game. The necessary reinforcements have been made in the window and they are back to work stronger than ever. The recently concluded winter transfer window was the one that would be embarked upon for years to come.

The window had clearly indicated what the 'Big Clubs' were up to and has laid the standards that could well and truly be shattered in the summer. Real Madrid are expected to break the bank in a major squad revamp along with the Manchester clubs who look to add more firepower to their squads ahead of the new Premier League season.

With the summer transfer window arriving quick, we take a look at the players who could be on for some big money moves as Europe's elite brace themselves up for a busy couple of months.

#1 David de Gea

Manchester United v Stoke City - Premier League
David de Gea is currently leading the charts for most clean sheets in the Premier League.

The Manchester United goalkeeper came close to joining Real Madrid back in 2015 only to be denied by some faulty fax machine. Since then, the Spaniard has established himself as arguably the best goalkeeper in the world and "De Gea to Real Madrid" has become a talk of every summer. Reports in Spain also suggest that a £100 million deal is being struck out to lure the 27-year-old to the Spanish capital.

#2 Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur v AFC Wimbledon - The Emirates FA Cup Third Round
Harry Kane has scored 99 Premier League goals for Spurs so far

The England international is easily the hottest property in Europe at the moment. His consistency over the years reflects in his tremendous goalscoring record. Harry Kane would surely be on the radar of all the European heavyweights who are looking for a top quality striker.

Daniel Levy would be highly reluctant to sell Kane who is currently having a joyous spell in London and is searching for his 100th Premier League goal. Although anything close to £300 million can force Spurs into selling the player.

#3 Eden Hazard

Chelsea v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League
Hazard could move to the Spanish capital ahead of the 2018-19 season.

It appears difficult for Chelsea to be able to fend off any possible interest from Real Madrid for Eden Hazard, given their poor run of form this season. The Belgium international is among the most talented youngsters in Europe. The 12-time European Champions could make an approach for Hazard in the summer of 2018.

Real Madrid's current form which would force them to a huge spending spree in the summer and are ready to offer up to £200 million for the Belgian.

#4 Antoine Griezmann

Atletico Madrid v Chelsea FC - UEFA Champions League
Griezmann could be set for a move to England.

The Frenchman was considered to be a priority target for Jose at Manchester United in 2017. Talks of United triggering his buyout clause of £92 million believed to have taken place but the move did not happen because of Atletico's transfer ban.

As a result, he penned down a new deal with the club but his release clause stood at £92 million only which keeps the player attainable at what appears to be 'cheap' in the modern transfer market.

#5 Paulo Dybala

Juventus v Benevento Calcio - Serie A
Dybala could be up for a big money move in the summer

The Juventus man has been in a sensational form so far this season. Dybala is a natural attacking talent and has an equally lethal left foot as his idol, Lionel Messi. The Argentine is one of the most promising talents in the world presently and would potentially be raging a bidding war among Europe's elites for his signatures.

Manchester United would be out for a new No. 10 in the summer and they could pursue Dybala. Barcelona also see Dybala as Messi's heir and could battle United for the Argentine. However, Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta has refused to put a price on their star man but reports suggest that Dybala is not happy playing in Italy. An offer ranging from £140-150 million is understood to be tempting enough for the Old Lady faithful to resist.
