During 15 editions of the European Championships, starting with the inaugural edition in 1960, a total of 10 different nations have won the quadrennial continental tournament.

Germany (3), Spain (3), and France (2) are the sole multiple winners of the European Championships. 7 other nations - Russia (as Soviet Union), Italy, Czech Republic (as Czechoslovakia), Netherlands, Denmark, Greece, and Portugal have won the title once apiece.

All former winners of the European Championships, sans one, would be gracing the field at Euro 2020. 2004 winners Greece failed to qualify after finishing behind group winners Italy and runner-up Czech Republic.

Following the conclusion of the Euro 2020 qualifiers, Italy and Belgium emerged as the only nations not to have dropped a point in any game. Ukraine, Denmark, and Spain were the other undefeated nations during the Euro 2020 qualifiers.

Since the group stage for Euro qualifiers was first introduced during the 1968 qualifiers, only France (1992, 2004), Czech Republic (2000), Germany (2012), Spain (2012), and England (2016) have managed to win all games during a qualifying campaign.

Czech Republic, Germany, and England managed to do so in a six-group qualifying campaign (won 10 games apiece) while France (twice) and Spain managed the feat in five-group qualifying campaigns, winning 8/8 games apiece.

On matchday-10, Italy celebrated their biggest win in over 70 years when they thumped Armenia 9-1 at home to produce their first perfect (10/10) Euro qualifying campaign. Belgium thumped Cyprus 6-1 at home, the Red Devils and the Azzuri became the 6th and 7th different teams respectively to produce perfect Euro qualifying campaigns.

At the other end of the spectrum, Gibraltar and San Marino lost all of their qualifying games during the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
