The Aussie skipper scored his second World Cup goal

Mat Ryan- 6.5/10

Made some routine saves early in the game and positioned himself well enough to keep the French forwards at bay for most of the match.

Josh Risdon- 6/10

Was pretty much composed for most of the game and gave some trouble to the France attackers. However, made a foul on Griezmann which resulted in the penalty leading to France's opener.

Trent Sainsbury- 7.5/10

Was Australia's finest defender during the match and made some fantastic tackles throughout the match.

Mark Milligan- 6.5/10

Was given a little trouble by Mbappe during the initial moments of the game, but got better as the game progressed. Made some important blocks and was good in containing Griezmann and the other French attackers.

Aziz Behich- 7/10

Had a fine outing at the backline and made some excellent tackles throughout the game. He also created several attacks from the left flank. Will be looking to produce a similar performance against Denmark and Peru.

Aaron Mooy- 7.5/10

Probably the best Australian player of the match. Did well in shielding the defense and initiated several attacks. Delivered a fine free-kick during the first half which was Australia's best scoring opportunity in the match.

Mile Jedinak- 7/10

There were questions about his inclusion in the starting XI, but the Aussie skipper played well. Was brilliant in the air and kept Australia in the match for a while through his fine penalty which was also his second World Cup goal.

Tom Rogic- 7/10

Did not offer much during the beginning but was better as the match progressed. He outplayed Kante on several occasions and was good in aerial situations.

Matthew Leckie- 5/10

Had a good first half and gave a tough time to the French defenders but slowed down during the second half.

Robbie Kruse- 5/10

Won a few free kicks for the Socceroos and was also involved in a few attacks. However, he lacked the end product.

Andrew Nabbout- 5.5/10

He had a rough time at the front but worked pretty hard at the back.

Substitutes:

Tomi Juric- 6/10

Came on in the 64th minute for Nabbout and was much efficient than him. Looked pretty pacey when on the field.

Jackson Irvine- 5/10

Came on in the 72nd minute for Rogic and looked pretty energetic during his time on the ground.

Daniel Arzani- N/A

Came on for Kruse in the 84th minute.
