Javier Hernandez is the most prolific goal-scorer for Mexico, is a world-class poacher and likes to run behind the defenders. Hummels, on the other hand, is solid in defence, comfortable in possession, is calm and is quite good at heading the ball. Due to his composed passing style, Hummels is often compared to his compatriot Franz Beckenbauer.
Hummels will have to be extremely alert against Hernandez as he is a very shrewd striker capable of creating a chance out of nowhere and a very dangerous player to defend against in the penalty area.
Hernandez will also find it tough to get past Hummels, due to his height and strength and hence will have be patient and wait for the correct opportunity. It will be a very interesting battle to watch out for between these two outstanding players.
