The Asian Football Confederation will organise a two-day workshop on September 10/11 for the AFC Asian Cup 2019 bidding Member Associations (MA) in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur to explain the further processes involved in hosting the continent’s flagship competition.

Information on the rights, roles and responsibilities, AFC’s requirements and other key elements on hosting the competition will be given to the bidding MAs during the workshop.

The bidding MAs will also receive the Organising Association Agreement (OAA) and List of Requirements (LOR) with questionnaire template before the workshop.

Eleven countries have expressed their interest to host the competition when the bidding started but three – Lebanon, Malaysia and Myanmar – have since pulled out of the race. Representatives from the remaining eight Member Associations – Bahrain, China, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates – are invited to attend the workshop.

The AFC has also extended the deadline for the eight MAs to submit all the documents to August 31. The bidding MAs were requested to provide signed bidding agreement, government guarantees and host candidate questionnaire.
