Pochettino was widely tipped to take over as the coach of Manchester United next season when Solskjaer was appointed as the interim manager. Since then, the performances of Solskjaer has made himself, the prime candidate for the role.

Pochettino has been immensely successful since taking over as the coach of the Spurs side in 2014. Although he has no titles to show for it, top three positions in three out of the four seasons is an achievement of its own for a club which has not spent heavily in the transfer window.

He has managed to bring out the best of many young players namely Harry Kane, Delle Alli, Eric Dier etc. This quality has not been lost on the United fans. His philosophy of high pressing and attacking has made him one of the top candidates for the role.

The Tottenham project has almost been completed with the opening of the new stadium. It may be the right time for Pochettino to seek new pastures and what better than Manchester United.

Pochettino ticks all the boxes to be a United manager. With Tottenham in Europa League and Champions League for the last couple of years, the Argentine has plenty of experience managing a big club and facing off European giants such as Borussia Dortmund. The only thing holding him back from the job is probably his ability to win trophies for the club.
