When it comes to top-flight victories, Manchester United ranks among the very best in the league. It is a team with a rich culture of winning and consistency in clinching titles at the highest level. He silenced doubters by opening the scoring in the second minute. He added further goals in the 27th, 47th, 62nd and 70th minute to complete a proper five-star performance. Park Ji-sung and Nani were the other scorers on the day for United. Christopher Samba's 83rd-minute effort proved to be nothing but a consolation goal for the visitors. This was the sort of result that electrified the near 75,000 supporters in the stadium.
#2 Manchester United 7-1 Roma
The Italian giants led by talismanic captain and hero Francesco Totti looked to cause mayhem at Old Trafford in the return leg of their UEFA Champions League. On April 10, 2007, United came into this clash having trailed 2-1 on aggregate from the first leg in Rome. It was expected to be a tough evening for the Red Devils given that the Italian side generally had strong defensive capabilities.
After a nervy start, striker Alan Smith set the ball rolling in the 17th minute to level matters on aggregate. United and Arsenal share one of the biggest rivalries in English football. On most occasions, it is usually a tight affair and a game of margins. However, that was not the case on August 28, 2011, when they faced each other in their English Premier League match at Old Trafford. It had all the ingredients of a proper match between the two sides. There was a red card, penalties and goals.
United recorded their biggest ever win to date over Arsenal courtesy of Rooney's hat-trick. with Ashley Young adding two curled goals. Park Ji-Sung, Nani and Danny Welbeck were the other scorers for United. On the other end, Theo Walcott and Robin Van Persie managed a goal each for the Gunners. Arsenal were ripped apart in every sense of the manner. Every time United pressed forward, there was that feeling that it would end up in a goal.
