Manchester United has been on a spending spree since the departure of their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Despite the big spending, the Red Devils are yet to claim their first Premier League or Champions League trophy in the post-Ferguson era.

However, It is no surprise that many of the former United outcasts have now become successful stars for their respective new clubs due to the rushed decision from the Red Devils' board to buy the new one as they dumped their old players.

Now let's take a look at the three former Manchester United outcasts who the Red Devils regret selling.

#3 Henrikh Mkhitaryan

Jose Mourinho could be wrong in many ways when he decided to give some very harsh treatment to Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The former Dortmund star had been frozen out by the Portuguese manager in his last few matches for United. Mourinho even criticized the Armenian in public due to his poor performances at the time.

Now Manchester United could not blame anyone but themselves for lacking a reliable right-winger. Alexis Sanchez, who swapped place with Miki last year, has now turned out to be one of the worst signings in Manchester United's history due to his wage to performance comparison.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has also rotated heavily between Juan Mata, Jese Lingard, Sanchez, and Anthony Martial due to difficulties in finding the right player to fill the flanks. It is understandable that the Arsenal star has yet to found consistencies in his play but, he could surely be the better or even the best player in United's miserable right-wing position.

His productivity has been excellent for Arsenal this season as he has been involved in 10 league goals with far less salary compared to Sanchez. He has also become one of Emery's best players in Arsenal's outstanding Europa League run. On top of that, he now sits fourth on the Premier League table with Arsenal as United dumped back to the Europa League zone.

#2 Daley Blind

Many Manchester United faithful desperately wants to move on from Jose Mourinho's park the bus-legacy and, yet the board decided to let go of Blind who arguably could become their most creative and most productive attack-minded center back.

The Dutch defender had been pretty much hopeless in his last season for the Red Devils and eventually sold to Ajax for €15.8 million. Now he has been reborn after joined his boyhood club Ajax as he has nearly started all of the Dutch giant's matches.

A lethal defender capable of filling different positions equally well, Blind has formed a formidable partnership with Dutch sensation Matthijs de Ligt at the heart of Ajax's defense. He has slotted seamlessly in Ajax beautiful-attacking football scheme and has involved in incredible 7 league goals as a defender.

He has also been a key part for Ajax's magical Champions League journey. His defensive stats are also mostly better than Phil Jones and Smalling as he has 2.1 tackles and 1.5 intercepts on average in all competitions.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Everybody knew that the flamboyant Swedish striker had a miserable final season at Manchester United. He arrived at the Old Trafford as one of the finest goalscorers on the planet but, his career had been plagued by a fatal injury that left him out for the most of 2017/18 season.

The Red Devils, however, did not want to wait while paid the Swede's huge weekly salary. Hence, they eventually came to an agreement with the 37 years old to terminate his remaining contract. This move has proven bad as Ibrahimovic is now resuming his goalscoring frenzy with LA Galaxy.

The former AC Milan striker has shown that he still has what it takes to play on Europe's highest level. He had scored a massive 22 league goals with 6 assists in just 27 appearances for the MLS side in 2018 season.

Perhaps Manchester United have been overconfident with Romelu Lukaku and, they have paid the price due to the Belgium star's inconsistency this season. The Red Devils seem to have regretted Ibra's move so dearly to the extent that they had been touted to bring Ibrahimovic back to Old Trafford in October.
