A product of the Chelsea academy, Mason Mount was born on 10 January 1999, and joined The Blues' academy at the age of 5.

The rise through the ranks of the Chelsea academy has been spectacular for the young Mount, who played in the U21 Chelsea side the season before last.

The 19-year old who is still yet to make his debut for Chelsea, spent last year on loan with Dutch side Vitesse, making 29 appearances and scoring 9 goals, and also ending the season with the Vitesse Player of the Year award.

The Portsmouth born lad who was loaned to championship side Derby County, managed by England and Chelsea great Frank Lampard, has already made 12 appearances, scoring thrice and making an assist for the Rams. Mount was also part of the side that defeated Manchester United in the League Cup at Old Trafford.

The young midfielder has already represented England in the U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 age groups, while still being only 19.
