3 players likely to arrive at Arsenal this summer

Until now, Arsenal's activity in the summer transfer window has been negative, as the London-based club are yet to complete a single signing. Their targets are seemingly interested in joining clubs other than Arsenal. It has been a quiet summer, but most of the fans think the reason behind this has to be the fact that Arsenal's contract with Puma has expired and the club is waiting for the official release of their Adidas merchandise for the following season.

Arsenal cannot reveal their new signings in Puma shirts, and therefore, once the new club kits gets released, there certainly will be some announcements and signings, as Arsenal are in desperate need of heavy reinforcements.

With a reported budget of £50 million, Unai Emery will have to be pretty smart in dealing with transfers, something he is vaunted for. The Gooners should clearly not expect any big name signings, as the likes of Samuel Umtiti, Wilfred Zaha, Nicolas Pepe, etc, will cost more than Arsenal's entire transfer budget.

So without further ado, let's take a look at the likeliest players to join the club this summer.

#3 William Saliba (AS Saint-Étienne)

A player who has been under the radar for a while is William Saliba. The 18-year-old centre-back is being heavily linked with Arsenal, and carries a price tag of £26.5 million, which is negotiable, according to the Evening Standard.

The need for a tall, strong and a confident defender in the ranks at Arsenal is crystal clear. However, William Saliba might not be the direct replacement for someone like Laurent Koscielny.

The young centre-back does have the potential to become a long term replacement for Captain Kos, but Arsenal need to buy a leader, like Van Dijk, who can lead the back line.

#2 Kieran Tierney (Celtic)

The next Robertson in the making? Arsenal have been interested in signing the Scottish left back for quite a while now. Last season, Manchester United seemed to have won the race for his signature, but the deal clearly did not materialise, and this season, it looks like the 22-year-old is set to make his mark in the Premier League in Arsenal colours.

According to the BBC, Arsenal are optimistic over a deal for the Celtic defender. The Gunners had a £15 million bid knocked back a couple of days ago, and David Ornestian, a tier 1 reporter for Arsenal-related news, believes that the Gunners will come back with an improved offer. Tierney is currently valued at £25 million by Celtic.

Sead Kolasinac has certainly been a hit for Arsenal, but the player is more comfortable in playing as a left-wing back. And with Nacho Monreal set to leave Arsenal this summer, the need for a left back was real and Kieran Tierney is the best Arsenal can get.

#1 Yannick Carrasco (Dalian Yifang)

The 'Yannick Carrasco transfer saga' has slowed down a bit in recent weeks, as the fans have heard nothing of the Belgian so far. Carrasco was involved in a bit of problem with his current employers as he failed to arrive for a club game last week after doing his international duty, and that raised plenty of speculations on his future in China.

Apparently, he wants to return to Europe, but the Chinese club is demanding a fee in excess of £25 million for their star player, as per reports; a valuation Arsenal is not willing to meet. Yannick Carrasco's agent has revealed Dalian Yifang are adamant the Belgium international is not for sale this summer, despite his pleas to leave China and return to Europe with Arsenal heavily linked.

This is a deal that could still get completed and Arsenal are clearly waiting for a chance to pounce, as things between the player and the club aren't going very well. If Dalian Yifang decides to sell Carrasco, Arsenal will be his likeliest destination.
