Until a few weeks ago, Romelu Lukaku was struggling to find his feet with United this season. The Belgian had seen his first-choice role in attack relinquished, with Marcus Rashford flourishing - while failing to score regularly nor impress when called upon.

According to the Daily Mail, he was rumoured to be involved in a potential swap deal with Inter Milan's Mauro Icardi at the season's end. Inter - among others - are interested in signing him if he's made available and despite his quality, the odds were high that he'd be considering his options at the very least had things not improved.

However, they have done so. With three consecutive two-goal performances from the 25-year-old, the tide seems to have turned. He's gradually warming to the supporters and slowly justifying his £75m price-tag from Everton two summers ago.

With a few troublesome injuries and post-World Cup hangover which affected him, it's clear that he's capable of some excellent individual displays and United must be more patient with him going forward.
