Real Madrid possess some fine young talent in Europe

Real Madrid's winter could be summed up in a word- catastrophic. The Los Blancos have won just 11 of their 21 league matches this season. No way do they look like a side which has lifted consecutive Champions League trophies in the last couple of years.

Real's star XI has failed to provide an impressive performance so far, except the 7-1 thrashing of Deportivo. Despite the repeated failure of the players, Zidane has been reluctant to shuffle his pack. The Spanish Champions have a good nub of young talent which could be potential replacements for some ageing first-team stars.

The lack of game time for these youngsters could prove a matter of concern for Real. A substantial interest from Premier League clubs has already been seen for these youngsters. Here, we take a look at a list of players who could leave Bernabeu in the upcoming transfer window.

#1 Mateo Kovačić

The Croation has been struggling for game time in the Spanish capital

Mateo Kovacic is a name that has been regularly featured among the Real Madrid substitutes. The 23-year-old is seen as one of the most talented midfielders in the game. Real had signed Kovacic from Inter Milan in 2015.

Despite being highly rated, Kovacic has managed just 17 appearances for the Los Blancos this season. The Croation is known for his brilliance on the ball. His ability to pick the ball up deep and push the opponent with his sprints is note-worthy.

The former Inter man has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer. Jose desperately needs a central midfielder to replace the retiring Michael Carrick. Kovacic would tick all the squares for United and would be a quality addition alongside Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic.

#2 Marco Asensio

Asensio has 8 goals and 4 assists for Real Madrid this season

The revision of Asensio's release clause to €700 million speaks the volume of talent the Spanish winger possesses. The 22-year-old is considered to be one of the best attacking talents in the world. Asensio's lethal left-foot makes him a special player.

The Spanish winger has featured 32 times for Real this season, with a majority of appearances coming as cameos off the bench. The youngster is believed to be unhappy with the lack of game time under the French boss.

The situation may not improve for the Spaniard as Madrid have already been linked with players like Hazard and Neymar. According to reports, Chelsea could be pursuing the Spaniard irrespective of the price Real slap on the starlet.

In such a case, Real may find it difficult to keep hold of their No. 20. Asensio's departure would be a huge blow for the club and the fans.

#3 Dani Ceballos

Ceballos is a highly rated player in Spain

Dani Ceballos was a part of the Spanish side which won the UEFA European U-21 Championship in 2017. The midfielder was named as the Player of the Tournament. No sooner the tournament ended, Real roped in the youngster from Real Betis.

The Spaniard has just two league starts to his name since joining the Spanish Champions. Some recent reports also talk about a clash between the player and the manager over lack of minutes.

The 21-year-old was a subject of strong interest from Liverpool in January but Los Blancos were not willing to sell the player. If Ceballos pushes for a move, there would be a lot more interest from across Europe.

The midfielder in his young career has exhibited some remarkable hold-up play and dribbling skills on the ball. At such young age, he looks promising enough and would be a quality addition to any team.
