2) Compatibility

Many players struggle to break into a particular team's starting 11, but fit in perfectly with another team. For example, James Rodriguez struggled to make an impact at Real Madrid, but is tearing up the German Bundesliga with Bayern Munich. This usually comes down to the compatibility of the player with the system the club follow. It can also be because of lack of compatibility with the club's style of play or even the manager. However, as far as Meyer and Arsenal are concerned, they do seem perfectly compatible.

Style of play

The Arsenal team are known for playing a beautiful, passing game. They prefer to dismantle their opposition, pass by pass, rather than launch long balls or constantly take shots from unreasonably large distances. However, this hasn't really worked out for them in the past two years with Cazorla sidelined through injury for most of that period. But Meyer has shown that he acts like the glue in midfield. Intercepting loose balls, plugging the gaps that are exposed by other midfielders making forward runs, and even making the occasional piercing pass. Their styles are compatible. There's no question about it.

Arsenal's German base

Many Germans such as Jens Lehmann, Michael Ballack, and Jurgen Klinsmann have left their mark on the premier league, and it would be fair to say that in recent years, the Gunners have had their fair share of German players. Even now, there are multiple German players in their squad. This will make it much easier for Meyer to fit in and adapt to the Premier League.

With Mesut Ozil, Per Mertesacker, and Shkodran Mustafi in the current squad along with other German players such as Sead Kolasinac and Granit Xhaka, Meyer will have his fair share of role models at the Emirates. As if that wasn't enough, Germany and Arsenal legend. The man who was part of the famous 'Invincibles' team of 03/04, Jens Lehmann is the current goalkeeping coach for the North London outfit.

In general, Meyer's compatibility with Arsenal will be key to his success if he joins.
