It is quite surprising how a team which can play so well for the most part of the season lack the firepower to overcome obstacles in the end. Often short of confidence, the costly errors of the Liverpool players depict a distinct lack of iron will and determination, which is needed to win eventually.

When Liverpool faced Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final last year, Los Blancos were not overwhelming favorites despite winning the title two times in a row. Yet the blunders of Liverpool goalkeeper, Karius - not once, but twice, eventually resulted in a defeat.

The winning mentality includes pile driving through obstacles when things are not going in their way. Although Liverpool has managed to win when they are not particularly dominant this season, they are yet to show that they can be the unstoppable force at times of need.
