#2 The transfer business and expectations of other Premier League clubs

Liverpool have undoubtedly conducted the best transfer business in the Premier League so far. But what have the rest of the top clubs been up to in the transfer window? Here's a look at their not-so-fruitful transactions so far:

1. Manchester City

They are Liverpool's closest rivals when it comes to winning the title. But City have not been particularly active in the transfer window, bringing in only Riyad Mahrez.

Mahrez is the only signing that Pep Guardiola's team has made

Admittedly, they still have the same squad that won the title last season. But a club of this magnitude will now have its eyes on the biggest competition of all, the Champions League.

If Liverpool prioritizes winning the Premier League then they might snatch it away from Manchester City.

2. Manchester United

Manchester United have been in shambles all throughout the pre-season. The arrival of Fred and Diogo Dalot might have brought a few cheers, but with most of the first team players not available for pre-season, Jose Mourinho seemed to be in complete meltdown.

The future of many players such as Anthony Martial is still undecided, so United are seemingly in a lot of trouble coming into the next season.

Mourinho's public rant will surely harm the squad's morale.

With Jose Mourinho publicly attacking his entire squad and with the board and the fans frustrated with his boring style of football, Manchester United are far from contenders for the title.

3. Chelsea

Chelsea are once again gone through a managerial change with Conte getting sacked and Sarri coming in, and they have only bought Jorginho from Napoli and Rob Green on a free.

There's just one week left for the new season to start, and the Chelsea players are still getting used to Sarri's style of play. With Alvaro Morata still not firing and uncertainty surrounding the futures of Willian, Hazard, Courtois, and Kante, Chelsea don't seem likely to threaten Liverpool.

4. Arsenal

Arsenal have also gone through a managerial change with Arsene Wenger finally leaving the club. They have also had a complete overhaul of their squad, with a number of new signings coming in.

But after a disappointing last season, they will no doubt be focusing on finishing in the top 4 and having a good run in the Europa League.

5. Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have made no signings this summer, which is a real worry for them. They have a very good first team but lack quality when it comes to the bench.

An injury to any first team player would most certainly cause them problems due to their squad depth. And with their new stadium being built, they would be lucky to finish in the top 4.

With the rest of the clubs having problems of their own, Liverpool are looking ever more the favorites to win the title.
