During the pre-match press conference, Huddersfield manager Jan Siewert pointed out that it is difficult to plan against Spurs when they are without Harry Kane since they play different formations. In this game, Pochettino went with a three man defense (3-5-2) formation and Huddersfield did not have any plans to counter this.

Ben Davies and Kyle Walker-Peters provided width and their pace troubled the Huddersfield defence. Mousa Sissoko’s physicality and intense pressing at the heart of the midfield made sure Tottenham enjoyed majority of the posession throughout the game.

The most impressive aspect of this victory was the link up play between the two forwards and Eriksen. Llorente has so far consistently delivered during Kane’s absence and the immense aerial threat he posesses brings a different dimesion to this Tottenham side.

Hugo Lloris too showed his class with a flying save to deny Hudderfield from a set piece. This was a complete team performance and Spurs showed that they are still a fabulous side even without Harry Kane.
