#1 Toby Alderweireld

Signing a new defending tops Arsenals transfer list every summer and it's no different this summer either. Over the last few months, a number of defenders like Samuel Umtiti, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and a host of others defenders have been linked with a move to Arsenal, However, with Emery being forced to operate on a limited transfer budget, Arsenal will have to be smart in their transfer dealings this summer.

That's why Arsenal have to go all out and secure the services for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld. The Belgium international had an additional year added to his Tottenham deal at the end of last season, but that also meant that clubs could land him for just £25 million this summer.

It's very rare for a player from Tottenham to move to Arsenal or the other way around, but they do happen with Sol Campbell being the most notable.

Signing Alderweireld makes perfect sense with the Belgium international being one of the most established defenders in the Premier League. Signing him could become one of the biggst coups in Premier League history and he might take some convincing, but if Arsenal manage to qualify for the Champions League and win the Europa League he might just be tempted to switch allegiances.

With clubs like Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool also interested, Arsenal need to do anything in their power to sign the 30-year-old as he would be perfect for Unai Emery's revolution.
