Jose doesn't know his best centre-back pairing yet.
The reason why Manchester City and Liverpool have been dominating this season is that along with their stellar attack; they have a rock solid backline. Jose Mourinho wanted a centre-back in the summer transfer market, but the Manchester United board reportedly declined his wish.

Jose has already bought the likes of Eric Bailly and Victor Lindelof since he took charge of United. Though Eric impressed at first, his inconsistency has broken the manager's trust. For Lindelof, however, the physical nature of the Premier League has been tough, and he is finding it difficult to get going. The Red Devils do have Smalling, Jones, and Rojo as other options but none or no pair has impressed the manager.
Manchester United have conceded a lot more goals than they did at this stage last season and without a dependable centre-back pairing, things could become only worse.

Since childhood I was encouraged to play cricket and in no time it became a hobby. Gradually I found interest in other sports also.
Football is in my blood and I love the electrifying ambiance that surrounds it. I often watch the pre and post match analysis of a match and try to learn how to analyze a football game.
The thing that intrigues me the most is that there are so many things happening behind the scenes that are oblivious to our naked eyes. The technological advancements that has been made are phenomenal.
I like analyzing a game from a statistical point of view. Being a data guy myself , I am firm believer of providing insights through facts and data. Though a game is always unpredictable , analyzing it from different dimensions can provide some very interesting conclusions.
