#3 Danny Ings

Adelaide United v Liverpool FC
Danny Ings

Danny Ings has had a career plagued by injury, which has seen him drop lower and lower in the pecking order at Liverpool in recent times. Ings is capable of playing great football, and he proved that at Burnley in their 2014-15 Premier League campaign, where he made 35 appearances out of a possible 38 and netted 11 goals.

In his first season at Liverpool, he scored two goals in six Premier League matches - which is a decent goal-to-game ratio for a new signing. But, again, injury took him out of action for some time. When he returned, he found himself having to adjust to life in the club's Under-23s as the first team spot he had worked so hard for had been filled.

Last season, Danny Ings played a total of eight Premier League matches, scoring once. Yet again, injury played a big part in his lack of game time, but the competition for a spot in the first team is also a major factor in why Ings has spent so much time either on the bench or in the reserves. He has to face the likes of Salah, Firmino and Mane for a place, which would be an uphill battle for virtually any player.

If Ings wants to revive his career before it's too late, he needs to seek a move elsewhere and get the game time he deserves. As stated, he's proven what he's capable of at Burnley when they were promoted; if he can find a club who can offer him the same, he could head right back to the top.

Where might Danny Ings go?

Crystal Palace, Burnley, Southampton and Newcastle have all expressed their interest in Danny Ings, despite his hefty £20m price tag. But nothing looks set in stone in terms of where he might end up just yet.

Most reports sway towards Crystal Palace nabbing the forward this summer, as they look to strengthen their attack heading into the new season - especially with Wilfried Zaha's future being in doubt.
