Mesut Ozil will be heading for the exit very soon as his contract at Emirates will end this summer and a renewal is highly unlikely. He could be possibly moving to Manchester United this summer for free and Arsenal needs to come up with alternatives to replace him in the squad. He is heavily linked to Mourinho and rumours suggest that he is confident about securing the move.

Mesut Ozil has been an invaluable asset for the Gunners from 2013 who has made 134 apps scoring 27 goals and providing 47 assists so far. He has been the major reason behind Arsenal's consistency to stay above in the league.

Let us explore few options whom Arsenal could sign as an ideal replacement for Ozil or perfect fit for a play-maker.

#5 Julian Draxler (PSG)

Draxler has a forward moving instinct always which can come in very handy for Arsenal

Another German to replace Ozil? Well, he has always been mentioned as a possible target for Arsenal. Arsene Wenger has always scouted on Draxler and did make tentative inquiries for him late in the summer transfer window.

Draxler who has fallen behind the names of Neymar, Mbappe will be eyeing an exit to get more playing time and establish himself as one of the best in his zone. He may not come to Arsenal with Ozil's quality of creating chances or providing so many assists but definitely will give a killer instinct up front. He has got pace and can be the best man to end Arsenal's woes for goals and more attacking football as Ozil and Sanchez both could be leaving Arsenal soon.

#4 Nabil Fekir (Lyon)

He is a French footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Lyon has won the Ligue 1 Young Player of the year award and recently has taken over the captaincy armband.

The Lyon play-maker has been growing over the recent times and is one of the most discussed players in Europe presently. He has been the driving force for Lyon and knows Lacazette well, therefore, it won't be surprising to see them together for Arsenal.

Fekir who has started the season strong with 7 goals and 4 assists in 9 games is compared to Zinedine Zidane who has admitted that Nabil is an incredible player and has impressed him technically.

It will be tough and very costly for Arsenal to get Fekir as he is rumored to be linked with Real Madrid too and we all know what Madrid can spend to acquire him if he is their target. Arsenal must look to rope in him quickly if they want to sign him otherwise it could cost them a good potential and a season too.

He has made 102 apps so far for Lyon and scored 40 goals. He has a lot to offer according to Deschamps, France manager who has admitted he has a great potential and can play different roles.

#3 Thomas Lemar (Monaco)

Lemar might be seen as a replacement for Sanchez, but Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger has already said that he has what it takes to play a more central role. He has been known for his versatility, like being able to play on both wings and through the center.

He has said he prefers to link-up with teammates, rather than taking on defenders: "I am trying to avoid duels and concentrate on passing as much as possible." He is predominantly left-footed but does well with his right foot too which certainly gives a boost for any team considering signing him.

#2 James Rodriguez (Bayern)

The Columbian play-maker has just moved to Bayern Munich on a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid but is finding his time difficult there as Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked by the German Champions. Rodriguez has found himself on the bench most of the time after Heynkes took over the team is looking to end the deal to return to Spain.

There is a high possibility that if it happens, he could be on the market once again and his creative qualities will definitely fill the void left by Ozil. He will be an ideal replacement for Ozil as he naturally plays a central role and can anchor the game well for his team which Ozil has been doing for so many years.

#1 Henrikh Mkhitaryan (Manchester United)

At the moment the place where Ozil likes to play is taken up by Lingard or Mkhitaryan and Mourinho is sure about whom to offload between the two. The Armenian star has proved his quality in Bundesliga and Premier League too. He is very creative with the ball and can play a variety of attacking midfield roles. This 28-year-old has a lot to offer and it will be a good choice for Wenger at a reasonable price.

Mkhitaryan has five assists and a goal to his name in the 15 appearances he made this season for Manchester United. We have seen the Gunners and Red Devils trading with each other for a long time and it won't be surprising at all to see Mkhitaryan playing for the Gunners next season.
