Ronaldo is extremely successful, and his abilities coupled with his striking looks mean that the 34-year-old is blessed with both fame and tremendous fortune.

It would have been easy for Ronaldo to rest on his oars, kick back a little and enjoy the fruits of his labor. However, he is not just wired that way, as his hunger for success and desire to go the extra mile keep pushing him on despite all that he has achieved.

The Madeira native started out by wanting to be the best player in the world. And with that arguably achieved (many believe he and Lionel Messi are equally good), he wants to take it one step further by becoming the best player in the history of the game.

While the GOAT debate is always subjective and open to individual perceptions, it would not be for a want of trying on Ronaldo's part to stake a claim to the throne.

He is already the record goalscorer for Portugal and Real Madrid as well as the Champions League. And as he stated during an interview: 'Are there any players with more records than me? I don't think there are any footballers with more records than me.'

While it might be true that there are no players in history with more records than Ronaldo, there is one man who has one record over Ronaldo. And with Ali Daei's goals record firmly in sight, you can bet on Ronaldo going all out to break it.
