The former Batman’s diligence to his work can be interpreted from his character in The Machinist, where he lost so much weight to play the protagonist that the doctors had to warn him against it.
For the movie The Big Short, Bale learned how to play the drums in two weeks so that he could give a more real feel to the character he plays in the movie. This is just a perfect testament to his undying dedication towards his work.
He is one of the finest method actors in the world and one can say with absolute certainty that he would take on the field and up his footballing skills to play the Portuguese’s character. And he would be absolutely awesome in it.
