#3 Miralem Pjanic

The Bosnian did not have the greatest of receptions from Barcelona fans upon the announcement of his signing - especially as Arthur went the other way to Juventus, in a deal that was perhaps 'creative accounting'. However, for regular watchers of Serie A, Barcelona came off better in this transaction - at least with eyes on the short term.

Why? Pjanic offers a wealth of tactical experience and nous that Arthur does not. Frenkie De Jong needs an experienced and energetic head alongside him, and Pjanic might just be the player to serve that role. The midfielder's versatility in attacking and defensive setups will be just what Koeman needs as he imposes his ideas.

For Barcelona fans accustomed to seeing Messi bang in free kicks at will, Pjanic will seem eerily, if right-footedly, familiar. Despite his appearance, the Bosnian has plenty of steel to match his grace with the ball and may very well surprise the Blaugrana faithful much like Paulinho did a few seasons ago. He deserves that chance.

#2 Ousmane Dembele

There's very little doubt about Ousmane Dembele's quality - the Frenchman has impressed whenever he's made an appearance in Barca's colours. However, his issue has always been fitness, which has seen a string of injuries derail what once looked like an incredibly promising career.

After a season where he managed just 492 minutes on the pitch for the club, Dembele must be praying that his injury demons have left him. With a new coach at the club, Dembele may find a manager who's more willing to let him gradually work his way back up to speed rather than immediately be thrown to the deep end.

However, time is fast running out for the Frenchman, and if he's unable to make an impact in the coming season, Barcelona may be forced to cash in on him to recoup a very small portion of their €140 million outlay.

Of course, if all goes as planned, Dembele may once again look like the player who scored 10 and assisted 21 for Borussia Dortmund in a single season. It's his time to deliver.

#1 Antoine Griezmann

In what may have been considered sacrilege to many a Barcelona fan, Ronald Keoman's first meeting with Lionel Messi had the straight-talking Dutchman reiterate the point that the Argentine's 'privileges' on the field might have to come to an end.

Perhaps Antoine Griezmann may have been foremost in Koeman's mind when he made his statement. The Frenchman has looked a shadow of the player that lit up the field for Atletico Madrid and France in seasons gone by, having to play second fiddle to a Leo Messi that occupied most of the spaces on the pitch where he used to thrive.

With Luis Suarez having one foot out the door, the stage is set for Griezmann to make his mark in Barcelona colours as a free-roaming central striker, with more of the play coming through him as Messi may find his responsibilities reduced. It may be time for Barcelona to prepare for life after Messi and perhaps the best way is to place their faith in a player who finished third in the Ballon d'Or race to Cristiano Ronaldo and his Argentine rival just 4 years ago.
