David Moyes' Manchester United travelled to the Brittania Stadium for the Capital One League Cup quarter-final to face Stoke City in a tricky tie in a game which saw the match temporarily suspended in the twenty-ninth minute due to a bizarre hailstorm, leading to the players having to leave the pitch.

Manchester United ended up winning the League Cup tie 2-0 thanks to goals from Ashley Young and captain for the night, Patrice Evra, which set the team up for a semi-final game against Sunderland.

It took something special from Moyes' men to light up the game that night and proving he could do it on a cold and wet night at Stoke, the winger hit an unstoppable 20-yard shot from the edge of the box giving them lead at the Britannia.

Manchester United's second goal also involved the 34-year-old, with his pass sending Patrice Evra into the opposition box and putting the ball into the corner of the net with his right foot to set United on their way to the semi-finals.
