Gomez can both play as a forward and as an attacking midfielder and is one of the most versatile players on the pitch. He has been with Atalanta since 2014, being one of their most loyal players during a period of positive transition. As Atalanta rose up the ranks of Italian football, their faithful servant grew in stature too, contributing goals and assists regularly.
In 2018-19, Gomez, as captain, led Atalanta to third spot in Serie A and Champions League football. Last season, Gomez picked up 16 assists to top the Serie A leaderboard as Atalanta finished third again.
