During his maiden tenure at Chelsea, Mourinho was fined € 8900 for making false accusations on the referee for planning a conspiracy with Frank Rijkaard against his team.

He gave such comments in the post-match presentation and faced widespread criticism. Mourinho was also given a two-match touchline ban as well.

But, these words outraged the Chelsea fans. A fraction of the fanbase sent death threats to the referee Anders Frisk, who was forced to quit!

Mourinho was at the peak of his career in Italy. His treble-winning season of 2009-10 at Inter Milan upgraded his image to that of a world-class manager.

Mourinho's stint at Real Madrid was not a smooth ride. His tenure with Los Blancos was accompanied by the rise of Pep Guardiola at Barcelona.

As a result, he was prone to criticism from the "Royal's" fanbase.

In his three year stint at Madrid, unarguably, the most highlighted moment was his "one-on-one" with Tito Vilanova.

The incident took place when both the teams were coming out of the tunnel before the commencement of a crucial Clasico game. Mourinho poked Vilanova in his eye.

This was the first occasion when Mourinho left the trail of verbal attacks and took up the unexplored path of physical ones!

This gave a furious start to an already intense game. The game infuriated several red cards, hence the game finished 3-2 in the favour of the Blaugranas.

Manchester United v Sevilla FC - UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Second Leg
Mourinho said it was not new for United to be knocked out of UCL

After crashing out of the Champions League at the hands of Sevilla, Mourinho had to face attacks from the media as well.

His tongue slipped once again, this time not against the officials or the rivals but against his own club!

According to Mourinho, getting knocked out in the Champions League Round of 16 is not something new for the club. He was at the opposite end on two occasions earlier as well, Mourinho added.

This statement has dampened his image in the Red Devils' fanbase.

Mourinho is a great football manager given his past achievements, he has something "special" in him. These attacks by Mourinho seem to be a part of his mind game tactics, his stats against Arsene Wenger, inarguably, provide a strong argument in support of this!
