Lukaku has had a turbulent time at Old Trafford since joining the English giants for a mammoth £75 million from Everton in 2017.

He has been linked with a shock move to Juventus, as the Italian giants are looking to replace their ageing striker Mario Mandzukic. The Croat is enjoying his best form for Juventus in 'Serie A' this season, as he has already notched 8 goals in 14 League appearances. Despite his prime form this season, Mandzukic is 32 years old, therefore close to ending his footballing career as he has already retired from international football.

The Bianconeri are looking at the Belgium leading goal scorer as possible replacement for their ageing striker. Lukaku has been off form this season, netting only 6 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for Manchester United, with all the goals coming in the English Premier League.

Lukaku's struggles in front of goal can be attributed to Manchester United's below par performances this season that led to Jose Mourinho being relieved off his duties, as they trail high-flying league leaders Liverpool by 19 points, and are 6th on the table, 8 points off Champions League qualification.

The Belgian could fall below the pecking order at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford looking ruthless when deployed as central striker for the Red Devils this season. Lukaku recently praised the Italian giants in an interview, admitting that he would love to play in the Serie A some day.

Here is a look at strikers Manchester United could sign if Big Rom seals a move to Turin.

#5 Richarlison (Everton & Brazil)

Richarlison has been sensational since joining Everton in the summer, reuniting with Marcos Silva. A lot was expected of the Brazilian forward due to the £50 Million fee Everton paid to price him away from Vicarage Road.

The 21-year old has not been affected by the hefty price tag, and has put in impressive performances, operating as a central striker and scoring 8 goals in 16 Premier League appearances for the Toffees so far, a significant improvement on his goal tally in the English top flight, as he managed only 5 goals in 38 Premier League appearances last season.

His impressive performances for the Toffees didn't go unnoticed, as he received his first call to the Brazil senior team, and has gone on to make 6 appearances, scoring 3 goals in the process.

Richarlison is still developing, and could be one of the best strikers if he joins United. He is strong and fast, with excellent dribbling skills, hence could be a decent addition to the Manchester United attack, as his directness could create more goals for the team.

He has Premier League experience, therefore cannot struggle with settling at Manchester United, and he'll link up with compatriot Fred and Andreas Pereira.

The Serbian international has been prolific in front of goal this season in the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt with 12 goals, topping the scoring chart in Germany, averaging a goal every 84 minutes.

Jovic is in his second season of his loan from Benfica, and is developing into a lethal striker with his ruthlessness in front of goal. He holds the record of the youngest player to score 5 goals in one Bundesliga match when he did so in Eintracht Frankfurt's 7-1 hammering of Fortuna Düsseldorf.

Luka is attracting interest from top European sides, and if Manchester United are to sign the youngster, then they should act quickly to secure his signature. Luka Jovic can form a formidable striking partnership with Manchester United forward, Marcus Rashford, if he seals a move to the English giants.

His excellent first touch makes him an ideal striker who could finish off sleek moves alongside the creative players at Manchester United's disposal.

#3 Timo Werner (RB Leipzig & Germany)

Timo Werner has developed into a lethal striker since joining RB Leipzig from his boyhood club Vfb Stuttgart in 2016. The German scored 21 goals in his RB Leipzig debut season, as they secured Champions League qualification, and he earned a place in the Bundesliga team of the season in the process.

Werner has become a mainstay of the German national team tasked with filling the big void left by the legendary Miroslav Klose, and has already scored 9 goals in 23 appearances. He has shown consistency as a top striker, delivering for RB Leipzig in their 3 seasons in the Bundesliga.

The 22-year old German striker has scored 11 goals this season, one behind top scorer Luka Jovic. Werner supported Manchester United when he was young, and admitted that he still harbours a dream of playing at Old Trafford. Therefore he could jump on a chance of linking up with the Red Devils. Werner is still developing, and has the right qualities to succeed at Manchester United.

His pace and willingness to take on defenders could cause massive problems to Premier League defenders, and open up spaces for teammates to cause havoc. He is a massive threat on counter attacks, and can create for himself and his teammates a lot of chances, as he likes drifting out wide to set up play.

#2 Mauro Icardi (Inter Milan & Argentina)

Mauro Icardi has developed into one of the most sought after strikers in Europe since joining Inter Milan as a youngster in 2013 from Sampdoria. The Argentine has scored an impressive 120 goals in 202 appearances for the Nerazzurri.

His exemplary performances and his leadership skills saw him being named Inter Milan captain in 2015, despite being only 22-years old. The Argentine has been a consistent performer, and played a crucial role in Inter Milan's return to the UEFA Champions League, despite failing to qualify for the round of 16.

Icardi has an eye for goal, and has already notched 9 goals in 14 Serie A appearances for Inter Milan this season.

His tactical intelligence of mainly operating centrally in the penalty area makes him a very dangerous striker, and could make him a nice addition to Manchester United, as he is an efficient finisher with both feet.

#1 Krzysztof Piątek (Genoa & Poland)

Krzysztof Piątek has taken Serie A by storm after joining Genoa for around £3.59 million from Polish side Cracovia.

The young Polish striker is leading the Serie A scoring chart with 13 goals in 17 matches, 2 goals ahead of 5-times Ballon d'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo, and has notched 19 goals in 19 appearances in all competitions.

The youngster scored an astonishing four goals on his debut for Genoa in the Coppa Italia, including a 19-minute hat-trick in Coppa Italia against Lecce, and became the first player to score in 7 consecutive Serie A matches since Gabriel Batistuta in the 1994-95 season.

Robert Lewandowski may be nearing an end to his illustrious career, but the good news is that the Polish have an able replacement in the young Genoa striker. Nobody knew of the exciting Polish sensation, but his incredible goal scoring record has made him one of the most talked about players in European football.

The youngster's pace, hold up play, and ability to shoot from long range could open up defenses and add more goals to Manchester United's play, as he will be lining up with a lot of attacking talent at Old Trafford.
