#3 Leading Liverpool to the Champions League final
Before the start of the UEFA Champions League campaign last season not many would have fancied Liverpool to reach the finals of the tournament. With the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Manchester City having their eyes locked on the big prize, it was too ambitious for the Reds to even think about making it.
Liverpool even had to play a qualifier against Hoffenheim to make sure a Champions League spot. They lost their number 10 midway through the season, faced Premier League champions Manchester City in the quarterfinals and a resilient AS Roma in the semi-finals. But the Jurgen Klopp-managed side overcame all the odds and reached the finals of the tournament.
And leading the way for the team were the marvellous trio of Salah, Firmino and Mane. The three scored a stunning total of 30 goals between them in the tournament with them scoring 10 apiece. The Liverpool attack ripping apart defences and scoring goals for fun was a dazzling site to see.
When the team reached the finals of the competition, there emerged a feeling that the Liverpool that all feared was finally back. But all dreams shattered like a piece of glass when Salah went of injured in the 30th minute of the game. Their star man's departure was the beginning of Liverpool's that night.
Although they had to go home with their heads hanging, how a Liverpool side led by Jordan Henderson reached the Champions League finals in 2018 will always remain in the hearts of everyone related with the club.
